About

Katie Gould Physiotherapy

Katie is passionate about helping people keep fit and strong and moving so they can keep doing the things they love and be ready for all the challenges of real life, hence the tag line for Katie Gould Physiotherapy, Real Life Fit!

She first became interested in physiotherapy when training as a classical dancer in London. After sustaining an injury that prevented her from dancing, Katie studied Physiotherapy and graduated from the University of East London in 2003. Katie is a registered member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and CORU.

Katie gained valuable experience working in the NHS in a large teaching hospital in London. Here Katie worked in a variety of settings including Respiratory Care/ICU, Orthopaedics, GP and Consultant Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Chronic Pain Management, Palliative Care and Gerontology/Neurology. During this time Katie qualified as a Pilates instructor and taught Pilates classes privately as well as integrating Pilates principles into her management of musculoskeletal patients.

Upon returning to Cork, Katie began working in the private sector in a specialised sports injury clinic and later in women’s health, including antenatal and postnatal care. Katie has a keen interest in sports, exercise and movement. In addition to her background in dance, she has competed in both Olympic and Sprint distance Triathlons and she continues to run, swim and cycle.

She has 3 beautiful children and her experience of rehabilitating back to daily activity and exercise after some complicated child birth experiences has increased her passion for helping support women through this time.
